Dublin Airport have issued a warning to passengers ahead of this upcoming Bank Holiday weekend. Approximately 450,000 people are expected to either depart from or arrive to Dublin Airport this long weekend, with the daa saying that people should take public transport or a taxi if heading to the airport this weekend. Those who are looking to drive to the airport and haven’t bought a ticket to the car park in advance are out of luck, unfortunately — as the car park is sold out ahead of the Bank Holiday weekend. Taking to Twitter (X) on Thursday, Dublin Airport gave passengers advice ahead of the long weekend — saying first that ‘Dublin Airport’s car parks are sold out this weekend. Please use alternate transportation like a bus or taxi. ‘Spaces will be available in the short-term car parks for dropping off and picking up passengers,’ Dublin Airport continued, adding that passengers should arrive at least two hours prior to departure for short-haul flights, and three hours before long-haul flights. ‘Passengers should be ready to remove hoodies, baggy jumpers and boots or footwear extending above the ankle at security,’ the daa added, as well as all liquids being below 100ml enclosed in a sealed clear bag no larger than 20cm x 20cm. Dublin Airport have said that 240,000 are expected to depart Dublin Airport from Friday to Sunday this Bank Holiday weekend, while 210,000 are arriving. The busiest day this weekend is set to be Sunday, June 2 — with 117,000 passengers expected to travel through Dublin Airport on this day. ‘The peak tourism season is now upon us and our doors are set to welcome tens of thousands of tourists to Ireland from all over the world this weekend,’ daa Director of Communications Sarah Ryan said. ‘By preparing smartly in advance, passengers can avoid needless delays.’ Today's top videos
