Do not get a Kay Jewelry card from Comenity Bank. They charged me a late fee that was Totally Unfair. The store had closed because of bad weather, so I could not make my payment before my due date. I called the bank and they told me they could not do anything about the store being closed. I told them I'm not talking about the store closure; I'm talking about the late fee. I was told that there is nothing they could do about the fee, then they raised my interest rate. After I finish paying it off, I'm closing the account.

I would give negative stars if I could. Horrible customer service. Paid the card off in full and miraculously owe money still, even though I haven't used the card for months prior to paying it off. Will never recommend this card to anyone.

Card does not work! I have a $5k credit limit, tried to use it last week, nothing owed on the card and it declined. When I called, the lady told me although I have the full available balance, I'm unable to use it. I'm not sure why. It still shows full available balance and open on my credit report, but I can't use it. Horrible card! Don't get it!

If I could give 0 stars, I certainly would. Never open an Ulta credit card! There is no way to pay your bill in the store, and there is also no way to pay your bill online. You have to call the number on the back of your credit card and provide all your bank account details. They don't charge you immediately, but only after a few days. This is incredibly inconvenient because you must constantly check the balance on your Ulta credit card to ensure you don't get charged interest. If you try to pay your bill again because you're concerned your payment didn't go through, they'll charge you about $30! Furthermore, you will need to make about 15 calls to customer service to talk to someone about the payment issue. Never open this credit card. I'm canceling my Ulta credit card and will no longer shop in Ulta stores. I am now contacting representatives of the Ulta store chain. Today, you lost a customer who brought you about $500 a month in revenue. Change your credit card payment system so you don't lose more customers.

TOYOTA should be ashamed to offer this card to its loyal customers. Customer service for this card is a joke; their only purpose seems to be to completely disregard card members' complaints about charges and issues resulting from using this card. Worst card ever!

If it were at all possible to give them a negative rating, I would do so. They are NOT customer-friendly. Once you pay off your balance, they will send you another bill for more interest on that zero balance. My advice would be to do your research and then RUN away as fast as you can from this company.

I had a VS card for about 10 years. My credit limit was $1,200. However, I kept my balance low because of the high interest rate. Payments were always on time. Then one year they reduced my credit to $800. It wasn't a problem because I rarely used it. However, my credit utilization went up. I paid extra on the card to bring it back down to 20 percent. A year later (around the holidays) they increased it again. Then another year they reduced it to $400. I don't like lenders that are prone to constantly increasing and decreasing credit when you have a good payment and low spending history. I paid them off and canceled the card. My credit score took a temporary hit because of the length of time I had the card. It reduced the overall years of credit that I have. I've since learned not to accept just any credit card offer unless it's a good, stable long-term card. I especially stay away from these store cards and just use a major credit card for purchases.

This is the worst card ever!
If you are late making a payment by mistake or forgot about it, they penalize you with a $41 fee!
They never remove that fee; they want to ensure you pay them no matter what.
I have a 750 credit score, and these people don't care; they just want your money without mercy.
Be careful with this card; I would not recommend it to my worst enemy!
This card is horrible, a nightmare!
Don't use it if you don't have to!
Good luck!

What Comenity Bank credit cards are easy to get?

Reply

Maria Adams, Credit Cards Moderator

@m_adams

The Comenity Bank credit cards that are easy to get are the ones that require fair credit for approval. That means you'll need a score of about 640 or higher. And since the average person's credit score is about 40 points above that, these cards are well within reach for most of us.

Unfortunately, Comenity Bank doesn't offer any cards for people with bad credit, so its cards aren't quite as easy to get as secured credit cards, for example. It's also important to note that Comenity Bank specializes in store cards, which you'll only be able to use at one (or sometimes a few) specific retailers.

Here are some Comenity Bank credit cards that are easy to get:

  • Zales Credit Card. Requires fair credit. $0 annual fee. 10% off all repair services. $50 off a $149+ purchase on your birthday. Deferred interest of 0% - 16.99% for 6 - 36 months. 33.24% (V) regular APR. Free shipping and exclusive coupons.
  • Ann Taylor Store Card. Requires fair credit. $0 annual fee. 5 points per $1 spent at Ann Taylor family brands.
  • Jessica London Credit Card. Requires fair credit. Annual fee: $0. 1 point per $1 spent at any of the fullbeauty brands.
  • Torrid Credit Card. Requires fair credit. $0 annual fee. 1 point for every dollar spent at Torrid. 35.24% (V) regular APR.
  • Petland Credit Card. Requires fair credit. Annual fee: $0. 1 point per $1 spent. Exclusive discounts and promotional financing.

As you can see, these cards charge $0 annual fees, and all of them provide nice perks at their respective retailers. Comenity Bank also has quite a few store cards that require good credit for approval. They include cards tied to Orbitz, Williams Sonoma, Loft and Westgate Resorts. But if your score is below 700, it's best to just stick with the cards for fair credit.

You can only check yourComenity Bank credit cardapplication status by phone. There isn't a general Comenity Bank phone number for all of their credit cards, so make sure to call the phone number associated with the card you applied for. Then, wait until you're connected to a representative to inquire about your application.
